Ron&Tess with Alan&Mary Alice do the Southwest

We flew into Vegas rented a car and headed out to Zion. Next was Bryce where we took a break from trail walking and did some exploring on sure footed mules (never again, I might add). Then onto Capitol Reef with stops here and there. We spent a wonderful evening in Torrey, Utah at a fabulous restaurant and ended up buying a piece of art at a local gallery. On to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon with a side trip to catch a glimpse of giant Condors in flight. Then we went to a few lesser (but extremely beautiful) canyon/parks on our way back to Vegas. Pictures of Vegas are not included because we were all in a state of shock while there (one night) and couldn't remember how to work our cameras. "What a Trip" (including Vegas and the Mule ride). The pictures included here were taken by both couples. We're already planning our next trip together....Southern California.

Our Seattle Winter of '06 Trip

We bought this beautiful basket from this craftsman and it now occupies a prominent spot in our kitchen.

Munch, munch, munch...........lovely picture, don't you think?

"Well we could go here or we could go there....what do you think we should do"?

Once again we experienced nothing but warm sun filled days in the middle of winter while visiting in Seattle. We're getting to think people talk so much about winter rain in the northwest just to keep people "from away"....just that, away. Actually, it was a wonderful visit and we can't wait to return. Frank Goes to College

My good friend Alan Albright and I found this wonderful college campus in Lakeland, Florida in mid January '06. Moving in and around Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings put me in some sort of time warp. It was a very pleasant feeling, satisfying actually. I sensed I was there and it was in the mid 1950's. The 50's was the time when Wright's architectural style had a profound influence on my sense of design. ron burke

The Greatest Show on Earth

In addition to the 2 buildings that house the circus displays, the Ringling Estate contains other attractions. The Ringling Family Mansion and the Art Museum are also included. They too are spectacular. The Ringling Estate is located in Sarasota, FL . On a recent vacation, I took a day off from playing golf and ventured over here with my good friend Gill Wilson. We were both blown away by what we experienced here. The meal we had at a small, simple Cuban/Columbian restaurant afterwards was as memorable as the Ringling Estate.......it was quite a nice day.
